This New Moon is in Virgo on the 9th of September at 17 degrees.
Virgo the sign of healing and grounding and has everything to do with your time, physical body, daily habits, health, work and wellbeing. So, all these things will probably be magnified at this time. 17 degrees (immortality number), is what is known as a critical degree of a mutable sign, thus, the energy of Virgo at this time is particularly strong.
It’s a New Moon of peace, prosperity and powerful new beginnings. Virgo craves personal transformation and it sets high goals. Now is the time to work on what’s truly meaningful for you and take responsibility for your own wellbeing. Perhaps this will come in the form of routine changes, detoxes or other new health habits and most importantly stepping forward in your own vibration. Currently, try and accept yourself, just for who you are and of course with this, accepting everyone else. Understanding we are all doing our best, sometimes the deepest wounds can’t be seen and that ultimately if we all act in service to each other, the energy of this entire Earth, will change. For many, it will be the proverbial ‘coming home’. There will be a certain ‘peacefulness’ with this energy of earth and water, so, if you can, find that still place within, because you will find a great opportunity for a lot of healing at this time.
Now the biggest news of this New Moon is that Mercury and Mars are now both direct. Maybe there has been something ‘stuck’ over the summer months, so at this time, you may start to see movement in this area.
We have 7 planets in Earth signs and 4 in water signs, which means no fire and no air. Astrologists note that this is highly unusual to just see two elements playing out. The important thing at this time is to get grounded and centred into your body and not try and ‘escape’ in some way (food, drugs, alcohol etc). Let go, release and accept whatever the situation is.
There are 4 wonderful transits that are happening during this Virgo New Moon. The main one is in Neptune opposite Mercury. This represents spiritual awakening, getting in tune with your own intuition, trusting yourself. If you’re not aligned with your spiritual side at this time or listening to your intuition, this energy may cause a bit of confusion and insecurity. Some of you may even be feeling that you have lost hope. The good news is, the other 3 transits will bring harmony to this opposition and they create balance. So really, the universe is presenting the problem and the solution at the same time. Isn’t it always like this? Part of this energy is that Jupiter and Pluto are joining an exact connection together and this is a wonderful energy for abundance, prosperity etc. Due to so much Earth energy around this Moon, it is the perfect time to really ‘create on Earth’ all that you have been working toward or indeed hope for. If ever there was a time to make your dreams tangible/real, this it. Getting into Mother Earth at this time will prove fruitful.
Uranus is square to Mars and is asking you to be patient. Maybe you would find benefit from ‘burning off’ some energy through a healthy activity such as walking, yoga etc. Uranus is also opposite Venus, so there could be romantic love connections with people. Ultimately Uranus cannot stand boredom, so you may find anything that doesn’t ‘excite you’, may come to a head. It really is a time to step further into your ‘true authentic’ self in relationships. Perhaps you have finally learnt the lessons that have been coming from the beginning of the year and now you step forward with the new awareness.
This is just a gorgeous New Moon that is lighting up abundance, expansion, a deep sense of peace and self-empowerment. Enjoy this Moon, for it reminds us that where we put our time and attention is what we will manifest in our lives. This is you getting in control of your destiny and seeing how this is achieved as easily as possible.
New Moon Ritual
Below, you will find a ‘ritual’ that will help you set forth your intentions and manifestations for this new lunar cycle. Obviously, this is not a requirement to complete, but some may find it helpful.
Creating a sacred space: This does not have to be anything ‘prolific’ but you should set out with the intention of creating a space just for you, that is distraction free and feels comfortable. I find using sage, crystals and a white candle particularly comforting to my rituals, but really you can make this experience as unique as you are! Also ensure that you get a pen and paper to record your manifestations on, although it does not have to be, getting yourself a little notebook to record in each month may be helpful to you.
Preparing for the Ritual: Not only should you prepare a ‘sacred space’ but it is also recommended to prepare yourself energetically also. This really means being kind to yourself, you can do this by having a walk-in nature, taking a salt bath, meditating etc, really ensuring that you are feeling peaceful and calm. I also suggest that you bring a glass of water into your sacred space with you and hydrate when you feel the need to do so.
Grounding: This is something that’s important anytime, for staying connected to earth energy. Signs that you’re not grounded are mania, nervousness, racing thoughts and the like. In a nutshell, grounding, is visualizing energy ‘roots’, coming out of the bottom of your feet, going down into the Earth, through the layers, into the core, and then drawing that energy back up through your feet again. It moves through each chakra, coming out the top and down around you. Try this or another variation of grounding before you set new Moon intentions.
Your New Moon Wishes: After you’ve cleared a sacred space and settled your energy, you’re ready to set your intentions. Make a list of what you’d like to draw into your life and Dream Big! The new Moon is a moment to conjure what seems out of reach, and creating the vision is the first step to making it a reality. But these are not just words on paper. As you write them down as intentions, you are committing to doing your part to make them real. Some call it co-creating, since you’re opening to universal energies to set dreams in motion. Whilst not a requirement I like to label the top of my page “New Moon in …” and then the date. I also write in the present tense, so in essence that what I ‘wish’ to manifest has already happened and I write it from a perspective of gratitude.
E.G. “I am thankful for my continued good health”
Keep your dreams Alive: A big part of success with new Moon intentions is what comes after. Unlike the ‘release of a Full moon’ find ways to keep your manifestations in the front of your awareness. Put them in a visible spot, or keep them in your wallet. Make notes in your journal about your progress (this is particularly helpful because it re-aligns you with the consciousness of the manifestations and helps you see the more-subtle energy alignment shifts towards them. At the full Moon, find ways to take action on those intentions, and celebrate any signs of change.
As with every New Moon, I will be conducting a Reiki Healing Circle. By doing so, we clear our energy at one of the most pivotal times of the month, bringing forth clarity, direction and forward momentum in our lives in a much more focused, conscious way. This Reiki session will take place on 9th September and we will harness the energy of this peaceful, balancing, abundant New Moon. The session will take place at 10-11pm BST (London Time). This is a distant healing session, so you do not need to be physically with me to receive the energy, indeed, you don’t even need to stop your ‘normal’ day to day activities for the Reiki to be sent. However, it is always recommended, where possible to mediate, during the session as this will prove fruitful to your acceptance of the Reiki. I will however programme the Reiki to be felt at whatever time you become still and wish to receive. The most important aspect is that you consciously accept the healing energy and know that it is always to your own highest good. Post the session, I will send e-mail feedback to all those who attended.
You can book your spot here.
